Blackhawk's Learning Commons Library provides students with thousands of digital resources for flexible access to quality research and learning materials. Library staff are available to support learners in-person in the Student Success Center and online.

Our academic advisors are committed to helping you establish a clear roadmap to achieve your goals. Advisors can help you explore programs and careers and refer you to college and community resources to support you throughout your education.

Blackhawk Technical College takes great pride in offering a wide range of career and professional development services. We are here to help you explore careers, prepare for the job application process, and find current opportunities.

Our English Language Learners program is open to students of all levels of proficiency. These classes are offered at no charge; however, nominal material fees may be charged. In order to be eligible, students must be at least 18½ years of age and live in Rock or Green County.

We're here to support your goals through our General Educational Development (GED) certificate or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED).

The Careers, Advocacy, Resources, and Engagement (CARE) Center's mission is to support Blackhawk students on their path to academic and career success by helping them access services and resources on campus and in the community that assist them in managing barriers and developing connections.

Students may also access the Career Closet, located in the CARE Center (Room 2220), for new and gently-used professional attire for interviews, career fairs, networking events, and the workplace.

Blackhawk's Student Cupboard provides supplemental food and other necessities for current students and their families who are in need. Our vision is to ensure no Blackhawk student goes hungry because of a lack of income or access to food.

Current students can shop the Student Cupboard in person from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. All you need to bring is your student ID. To schedule an appointment for in-person shopping or request a no-contact pick-up, please email btcstudentcupboard@blackhawk.edu.

The ITS department at Blackhawk works to support and enhance people’s interactions with technology. We provide support services for classroom technology, student and staff devices, and all of the software, systems, and infrastructure behind the scenes. Our goal is to ensure the college technology operations run smoothly for students, teaching, and learning. 

The Follett Bookstore offers a wide range of educational materials including textbooks, school supplies, and course materials. You can also purchase college apparel including clothing, t-shirts, backpacks, and so much more.

As a Blackhawk student, there are a number of opportunities to get involved through student organizations and events. Find an organization that relates to your program or join a group that helps build fellowship within the college community and provides opportunities for professional growth.

The Student Employment and Internship Program is a co-curricular work opportunity for Blackhawk students. The program helps students earn money to pay for their educational expenses by working part-time (up to 20 hours per week) while learning transferable job skills.

All positions are part-time with the exact number of hours available varying based on the availability of funding, the needs of the position, and the availability of the student worker.

Depending on the student’s program of study and the requirements of the position, some available positions (either on campus or off campus) may be eligible for transition to an internship.
