The role of the radiographer is to produce images of the human body to aid physicians in the diagnosis of injuries and disease. Mixing art and science, radiography is a critical component in providing patient care. And it’s an exciting career opportunity for anyone interested in the art and science required to treat medical conditions. It’s also a starting point for other careers in the field such as CT, MRI, Mammography, special procedures, or as a pathway to sonography. Blackhawk's Radiology program focuses on theoretical and applied radiography with a heavy emphasis on the clinical experience in a radiographic department. You’ll learn in a cohort setting over six semesters. Our state-of-the-art facilities feature two x-ray rooms and the latest imaging technology. Our faculty is with you every step of the way, and with in-depth clinical training throughout the program, you’ll learn amazing skills that will make you highly marketable in this growing field.

In our highly regarded, accredited Radiography program you’ll learn to use x-ray imaging machines to demonstrate body parts on x-ray for diagnostic purposes, including diagnostic radiology, bedside and trauma procedures, pediatric radiography, and special procedures. Once you graduate, you are eligible to apply to take the entry-level certification examination administered by the American Registry of Radiography Technologists (ARRT) and may obtain employment in x-ray departments associated with hospitals, medical clinics, and private offices.
